Sutton Manor in Winchester has been named Nursing Home of the Year at the Hampshire Care Awards 2021.
The luxury care home in Sutton Scotney, owned by the family-run Amesbury Abbey Group, picked up the prestigious award at a ceremony held at St Mary’s Stadium in Southampton.
Sutton Manor was up against stiff competition from the two other finalists in the category, which was sponsored by specialist business advisers Christie & Co.
Judges for the award said: “The team within Sutton Manor are very knowledgeable. It is obvious that each and every member of staff has the best interests of their residents as heart, from manager all the way to cleaner and every step in between”.
AAG Managing Director Naomi Cornelius-Reid said: “This is a fantastic win for Sutton Manor and a great achievement for all the team there, who are led by the amazing Kamala Limbu.
“They are all superstars, and this award celebrates all the hard work these caring, dedicated people do all day, every day to make Sutton Manor the wonderful nursing home it is.”
The Hampshire Care Awards is an annual event organised by Hampshire Care Association that celebrates outstanding individuals and providers of adult social care. This year’s event was postponed from last year due to Covid-19.
HCA Events Coordinator Debbie Carpenter said: “This was a special night for people across the care industry.
“For many, it was the first time they had been able to have a night out, a meal, a dance and a get-together for two and a half years.
“They all put their lives on hold through the pandemic because of the jobs they do, and this really did make the event incredibly special. Everyone loved it.”
The Amesbury Abbey Group has two stately homes in Hampshire and Wiltshire, offering an elegant retirement alongside a strong commitment to the best quality nursing care.
