"My 103-year-old father is hugely happy at Amesbury Abbey. Until recently, he has been able to push his walker up to the River Avon, which runs through the Abbey's magnificent grounds, and sit there enjoying the view. Now he is less mobile but the Abbey staff are always to hand to wheel him to lunch (an important part of his daily social programme) or to other activities, such as the weekly exercise sessions, sherry mornings, outings to nearby places of interest, special dinners, Christmas carols and film events. The staff are very charming and nothing is too much trouble for them."
