Residents of the care home and independent living were delighted to host to the very talented duo, Saffron Strings, in the drawing room last Friday. The ladies played a really varied repertoire; all introduced with a little history about the composer or the piece to add context and interest. The atmosphere was amazing with masses of candles twinkling away all around the room providing the perfect setting for the pieces to be appreciated in. In the interval the audience, including a number of family and friends, enjoyed a glass or two of bubbles and delicious canapes care of Chef Yvonne. In a particularly kind gesuture, at the end of the performance the duo stayed to chat with the residents all of whom found the whole event terribly moving and evocative. A fabulous end to a very special evening.
