It's all about community

From the comfort of your own home, whether that’s a stylish apartment or a thatched cottage at either Amesbury Abbey or Sutton Manor, you can live independently and safely. All with the benefits of a spectacular setting, as much or as little support as you might want, and of course alongside like-minded neighbours who are also your friends.

Enjoying activities is an integral part of our community - forging friendships, challenging yourself, indulging in the arts, the great outdoors, and good conversation with a glass of wine over an excellent dinner.

We have fabulous activity coordinators organising a packed calendar every week. These support physical health and emotional wellbeing but most importantly, they’re hugely enjoyable too. Regular pamper mornings, flower arranging, art classes, quizzes and gardening.

The Abbey and the Manor both host weekly coffee and sherry mornings, film afternoons, domino and bridge competitions and Scrabble and board game challenges. As much or as little as you fancy.

When the sun shines, we head into the grounds for croquet or clock golf followed by afternoon tea and a chat in the shade. At Amesbury Abbey we even enjoy complimentary fishing rights along our own beautiful stretch of the River Avon which runs through the Abbey grounds.

Getting out as often as we can as a group of friends, our outings include barge trips, visits to the beach, to the theatre, to art galleries, historic buildings, gardens and garden centres.

Then there’s a programme of special foodie seasonal events, too many to list, but including our wonderful summer parties and barbecues, Easter and Christmas lunches and themed events for Valentine’s Day, Burn’s Night and Chinese New Year. We even host family parties and guests staying over.

Whether you’re playing cards in the conservatory or bowls on the lawn, heading out for the day or taking part in some yoga or sofa exercise, our retirement life can be as active or relaxed as you wish.
