With so many of our residents having military backgrounds, Remembrance Day is always an incredibly important day for us.
This year, Amesbury Abbey was delighted to welcome the D-Day Dollies, who joined us for our special Remembrance Day commemoration.
The fantastic duo sang a set of wartime favourites from the 1940s, with songs from the Andrews Sisters, Judy Garland, and the inimitable Dame Vera Lynn.
Managing Director Naomi Cornelius-Reid said: “We were delighted that the D-Day Dollies joined us to celebrate Remembrance Day, as they sing so many of the songs that were loved by this amazing generation.
“Many of our residents have military backgrounds, or are related to those currently serving, so this day is deeply poignant for us all."
